Topic information: Prof Kerr Graham will launch the AusACPDM’s first listening and sharing session. We will discuss the issues surround musculoskeletal pathology, timing referral to orthopaedic surgeons and management. A New musculoskeletal classification system will be discussed.

This Session will be of interest to therapists, rehabilitation physicians , trainees and people with the lived experience and their carers.

Free Webinar: RACP statement on Indigenous child health in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand – where to from here?.

The RACP is hosting a webinar on Thursday 11 March 2021, 4.30pm to 5.30pm (AEDT) / 6.30pm to 7.30pm (NZDT).

This webinar will explore the key concept and recommendations contained in the recently released RACP statement on Indigenous child health in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. This is an opportunity for participants to ask questions and explore the next steps in healthcare for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Māori children.

2021 AusCP-CTN International Hot Topics in Cerebral Palsy

The Australasian Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials Network (AusCP-CTN) is partnering with colleagues at the Queensland Children’s Hospital to host a joint-conferene, to provide the latest information and research relevant to paediatric rehabilitation.

The conferencee will showcase Hot Topics in research from the Australasian Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials Network, including recent advances and issues on some of the work being done to improve early diagnosis and intervention for children with, or at risk of, cerebral palsy. We will highlight the latest research and innovations in early detection, neuroprotection, interventions and their implementation into clinical practice.

Changemakers 2021

Kids Plus is delighted to introduce Changemakers – a new conference which will take place at the RACV Torquay Resort, Victoria on 22-23 April 2021.

Changemakers 2021 will explore current research, clinical reasoning and provide an opportunity to share successful models of practice. Presentations will include;

• People with lived experience of disability presenting from their perspective – families and participants directly to inform change in the future direction of services and therapy,
• Insights from experienced leaders in the field, National and International, who have experienced changing practices in paediatric disability services with a vision for the future,
• Allied Health clinicians presenting about innovative programs that can be directly implemented back into clinical practice – ideas to directly change the practice landscape.

The Conference will prioritise the now and what we can and should be doing to ensure we offer the best of possibilities for those we seek to benefit. Changemakers 2021 is on over two days with delegates given the opportunity to attend in person or online.

COLLABORATE, INNOVATE, ACHIEVE: CP-Achieve & AusACPDM Symposium 2021

The purpose of this symposium is to listen to those with lived experience of cerebral palsy, share knowledge, invite discussion, develop professional networks, and establish collaborative links. 

The combined effect of these things, we hope, is to build innovative approaches that support young people with cerebral palsy, their families, and their care providers, in the move towards and through early adulthood.

A themed approach will be used to deliver information, forums, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities; allowing participants to be actively involved in learning and engaging in improving the lives of young adults with cerebral palsy.

The Rehab for Kids conference

The Rehab for Kids conference is a national conference organised by the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS), Queensland Children’s Hospital, and partnered with the Australasian Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials Network (AusCP-CTN), to provide the latest information and research relevant to paediatric rehabilitation.

The 3-day virtual conference will include dedicated single streams with various national and international keynote addresses, short multidisciplinary presentations and case reviews, along with research papers. The single-stream sessions will be held online via Zoom.

The program will provide you with opportunities to update skills and knowledge with colleagues involved in the rehabilitation of children with brain injuries, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, limb difference and other low incidence conditions.

The conference will showcase Hot Topics in research from the Australasian Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials Network, including recent advances and issues on some of the work being done to improve early diagnosis and intervention for children with, or at risk of, cerebral palsy. We will highlight the latest research and innovations in early detection, neuroprotection, interventions and their implementation into clinical practice.

You will also have access to a virtual bank of short presentations through the conference website on a variety of topics dedicated to paediatric rehabilitation.
