Introducing the Future of Reading: Enhanced Ebooks

What’s new?

With enhanced Ebooks, videos are embedded into the book to improve your learning experience!

Videos are integrated into the flow of the text, so you no longer need to juggle multiple formats or apps, and you can now see all the content in one convenient place.

How does it work?

After purchasing your Ebook through the Mac Keith Press website, it will appear in your library within Glassboxx. Click ‘Download’ to download the Ebook. Once the download is complete, you will be able to view videos directly within the Ebook. Please note you may only be able to download one book at a time.

The videos are contained within the Ebook file, so after the initial download you will be able to read and watch anywhere, without an Internet connection. This does mean that the file size of the Ebook is larger than previous Ebook files. The file size will be displayed on the product so please ensure you have at least this much storage space available on your device.

We recommend using the web version for optimal performance, though phone/tablet versions work well too. On phones/tablets, the videos are best viewed in full screen.

Mac Keith Press Ebooks bought from external sources (Amazon, Apple etc) do not support this functionality.

More information on How our enhanced Ebooks work is available on our website.

What books are available this way?

The first two titles available as enhanced Ebooks are:

SINDA (Standardized Infant NeuroDevelopmental Assessment)

Early Detection and Early Intervention in Developmental Motor Disorders

Whether you’re focusing on infant neurological and developmental assessment or early detection/intervention for motor disorders, these Ebooks offer a flexible, visual learning experience with hundreds of video clips—available anytime, anywhere.

Ideal for clinicians, students, and educators, these editions make it easier than ever to understand and apply developmental assessment and intervention techniques.

Gait Problems in Cerebral Palsy: Identification, Patient Goals, and Surgical Treatment is a must-have resource for clinicians guiding children through surgical care and postoperative rehabilitation. This comprehensive reference follows children from early childhood through adolescence, integrating expert insights, patient-centered strategies, and dynamic video content to enhance treatment approaches.

Each chapter has a commentary written by an expert in the field. See an example below by Robert Kay, MD, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, from the commentary to Chapter 15 on Crouch Management.

As a surgeon, I find the surgical technique guides to be logical and precise. The authors explain the procedures well and the ‘Pearls and Pitfalls’ are invaluable. The video of the surgical technique for anterior distal femoral hemiepiphysiodesis provides the reader with very clear instructions on how to perform this important surgery.

Excellent gait videos are highlights of this work as well. These videos clearly demonstrate the issues presented in the chapter, and are an invaluable adjunct. They enhance the

reader’s understanding of observational gait analysis. They are also extremely useful when paired with computerized gait data.’

 Gillette Children’s Healthcare Series

At the end of March, we celebrated the launch of the Gillette Children’s Healthcare Series at the RCPCH in London!

The evening was tied together expertly by our master of ceremonies and Chief Executive, Ann-Marie Halligan, and we had great speeches from:

  • Mac Keith Press’ Editor-in-Chief Bernard Dan
  • Gillette Children’s Paula Montgomery
  • Gillette Children’s Lily Collison
  • Cerebral Palsy Foundation’s Rachel Byrne
  • Fight the Stroke’s Paola Bassi
  • Baroness Hilary Cass

The event was more than a celebration—it was a moment to connect with colleagues, share stories, and reflect on the future of care for children with physical and neurological conditions. The atmosphere was filled with energy, warmth, and inspiration.

Guests explored the full book series at our display tables, featuring beautiful visuals and bold covers that reflect the heart of each title. Thank you to all that came along!

If you couldn’t join us, don’t worry—you can still discover the collection online. Discover now

Quantifying neurobehavioral profiles across neurodevelopmental genetic syndromes and idiopathic neurodevelopmental disorders

The aim of this paper is to examine neurobehavioral findings in three genetic syndromes (PTEN hamartoma tumor syndrome, Malan syndrome [mutations in the NFIX gene], and SYNGAP1-related disorder), a mixed group of other neurodevelopmental genetic syndromes (NDGS), idiopathic neurodevelopmental disorder, and neurotypical control participants.

Policy and practice recommendations for services for disabled children during emergencies: Learning from COVID-19

The aim of this paper is to seek consensus on recommendations for the delivery of services to disabled children in England during future emergencies.
